Get ready for a sonic safari through the weird and wonderful when genre-morphing beat wizard Spoonbill (aka Jim Moynihan) lands in Tank 5 this August with mind-bending visual sorcery from longtime collaborator, Dropbear.

An audio alchemist of the highest order, Spoonbill is part musician, part sound designer, part industrial designer, and 100% uniquely Spoonbill. His kaleidoscopic sound world fuses lush textures, glitchy grooves, and heavily edited live instrumentation into a signature stew that’s won hearts and hips on dancefloors across the globe.

Bursting onto the scene in 2005 with his debut album Megafauna, Spoonbill immediately turned heads (and turned up the volume) with a heady blend of improvised electronica and experimental flair. Followed by the critically acclaimed Nestegg in 2007 — which scored Album of the Week on ABC Radio National, PBS Melbourne and Triple R — Spoonbill’s musical journey has been anything but ordinary.
